Born in Saga prefecture in 1946.

An expert watch technician that has worked on the maintenance of an extensive range of Swiss watches of all types. 

He started his career as a watchmaker at the young age of 16 and worked at a watch shop in Hakata, Fukuoka.

He honed and perfected his skills as a watchmaker by working at Swatch for 23 years and at the World Commerce Corporation for 11 years. The technical skills that he acquired through working at Swatch gave him the ability to repair and restore notoriously complicated watches such as tourbillon, perpetual calendar and minute repeater.

The president of Swiss Blancpain, where he previously worked, said the following words to him when he left the company.

“There are people at Swiss that are able to repair various complicated mechanisms. However, you are the only person in this world that can fix all the possible complicated mechanism that exist.”

Kikuo Yamada is regarded as one of the world's top ranked watchmakers.
